Rachel Zoe Imitation Crisis

Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe who has worked with stars and socialites alike just debuted her new clothing line. But news on the web suggest that there might be an imitation controversy regarding a particular piece from her new line.

This is how the story goes:

Apparently, a white dress from her collection looks exactly the same as another dress that Rachel herself had used in a styling spread for Teen Vogue, all the way back to 2007. According to Rachel herself, she fell in love with the dress way back then and even bought the dress for herself. Fast-forward till today, the same dress made an appearance in her "new" clothing line, which she claimed, served as an inspiration piece for her entire collection.

I get that she is inspired by the vintage white dress, but why used it as an actual part of the clothing line? Doesn't that seemed a little pretentious, as if she wanted to take credit for that white dress?

  3. They're identical! I can understand being inspired by another piece of clothing, but I don't think you should copy it exactly!

  5. I don't know much about this girl, but that's one of my pet peeves. I hate when stylists--not designers--all of a sudden come out with their own clothing line, and it ends up just ripping off a bunch of pre-existing pieces. I love Kate Moss, but I know some of her Topshop collections were VERY similar to things she had worn herself years ago. I'm glad people notice and call them out on it!

  6. For shame Zoe! a good designer doesn't blatantly steal from other designers! it's like buying a fake fendi on canal street, smh
